 tourism in hong kong

The tourism industry has been an important part of Hong Kong's economy since it moved to a service sector model in the late 1980s and early 1990s. There has been a sharp increase in the number of domestic tourists from mainland China following the introduction of the Individual Visit Scheme (IVS) in 2003.

As of December 2006, there were 612 hotels and guesthouses in Hong Kong, with 52,512 rooms. The average occupancy rate for all categories of hotels and guesthouses was 87% for the whole of 2006, up one point from 2005 despite a 7.4% increase in the supply of rooms in Hong Kong between December 2005 and December 2006. During 2006, 62.7% of all visitors stayed one night or more, a trend that reflects Hong Kong's growing importance as a regional transportation hub.

Hong Kong currency

The Hong Kong dollar (sign: HK$; symbol: HKD), abbreviated to ($) is the official currency of Hong Kong. The Hong Kong dollar is divided into 100 cents. The Hong Kong Monetary Authority is the government's monetary council and is the de facto central bank of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong dollar. The Hong Kong Monetary Authority has authorized three commercial banks to issue their own banknotes for public circulation in Hong Kong. The three commercial banks, Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation [HSBC], Bank of China [English] and Standard Chartered, issue their own banknote designs in denominations of HK$20, HK$50, HK$100 and HK$500. and HK$1,000, with all designs similar to each other in the same banknote denomination. The Hong Kong government issues exclusively the Hong Kong 10 dollar banknotes and all coins.

As of April 2019, the Hong Kong dollar was the ninth most traded currency in the world.[7] Hong Kong uses an indexed exchange rate system and has traded in a range of 1 U.S. dollar to 7.75 to 7.85 Hong Kong dollars since May 2005. In addition to its use in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong dollar is also used in neighboring Macau, where the Hong Kong dollar is traded alongside the Macanese pataca.[8]

The best tourist places in Hong Kong

Hong Kong is considered one of the best tourist destinations in the world. It is also distinguished by its development and the large number of skyscrapers it owns, and we should not forget the most prominent historical monuments that are distinguished by it .... Let's get to know the best there together

Hong Kong Disneyland

Hong Kong Disneyland ( Chinese:香港 ) ( local alias HKDL ; also known as HK Disneyland ) is a theme park located on reclaimed land in Benny Bay , on Lantau Island . It is located within the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort and is owned and operated by Hong Kong International Theme Parks. It is the largest theme park in Hong Kong, followed by Ocean Park Hong Kong. [1] [Doubtful - Discussion] Hong Kong Disneyland opened its doors to visitors on Monday, September 12, 2005 at 1:00 PM HKST. Disney tried to avoid cultural backlash by incorporating Chinese culture, customs and traditions in the design and construction of the complex, including adherence to the rules of feng shui. Notably, an elbow was placed in a walkway near the entrance of the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort so that good qi energy would not flow into the South China Sea.

Majority owned (53%) by the Hong Kong government but managed by Disney, the park initially generated an annual net profit of HK$109 million (US$13.97 million) for the year ended 29 September 2012. However, it operated at an increasing loss in 2015, 2016 and 2017.  Hong Kong Disneyland currently occupies 27.5 hectares (68 acres) and welcomes 6 to 7 million visitors per year. The park's capacity will increase to accommodate up to 10 million visitors per year over a 15-year expansion period.

Mount Victoria

Victoria Peak is a hill on the western half of Hong Kong Island. It is also known as Mount Austin, and locally as The Peak only in general. With an elevation of 552 meters (1,811 feet), it is the highest hill on Hong Kong Island, ranked 29 in terms of altitude in Hong Kong. It is a major tourist attraction offering views of the center, Victoria Harbour, Lamma Island and the surrounding islands. The summit of Victoria Peak is occupied by a radio telecommunications facility and is closed to the public. The surrounding area of public parks, tourist facilities and valuable residential land is the area that is normally referred to as The Peak. The Peak also refers to Victoria Peak itself and its surroundings, including Victoria Gap, Mount Kellett, and Mount Gough. Sometimes Bowen Hill may also be included.

Buddha Tian Tan

Tian Tan Buddha is a statue of Amoghasiddhi Buddha who represents the wisdom of perfect practice and overcomes the poison of envy. He is depicted with his right hand raised in blessing.

Ocean Park in Hong Kong

Ocean Park Hong Kong, commonly known as Ocean Park, is a marine mammal park, oceanarium, animal theme park and theme park located in Wong Chuk Hang and Nam Long Shan in the Southern District of Hong Kong. It is the second largest theme park in Hong Kong, after Hong Kong Disneyland, as well as the largest theme park in Hong Kong by area. It is also the second oldest theme park in Hong Kong, after the now closed Lai Chi Kok theme park, which closed on March 31, 1997, four months before the 1997 handover.

Port de Victoria

The Port of Hong Kong is a port located in Hong Kong on the South China Sea. The port has been one of the busiest container ports in the world for many years and has at times been the busiest container port. Chung Chao

The small, dumbbell-shaped island of Cheung Chau, or "Long Island" - covering nearly 3 square kilometers - is known for its distinctive waterfront and is full of moored fishing boats and seafood restaurants. The island's sandy beaches and family-friendly hiking trail have long attracted those who wish to escape the hectic city life. It's no surprise in the last couple of years to see young people moving to the island to live, bringing with them a demand for contemporary cafes on Instagram. Cool, vibrant hip joints mingle with the island's timeless, serene charm, such as Pak Tai Temple - established in the 18th century by fishermen to honor the Taoist "god of the sea" - and is the traditional venue for the island's vibrant annual Chong Chao Jiao Festival. The festival is also known as the Cheung Chau Bun Festival.
