Entering Turkey in 3 Steps - Online Tourism System

The electronic entry visa will be used in place of the sticky entry visa currently used at border crossings, effective April 17, 2013.

Foreigners wishing to come to Turkey can obtain an e-entry visa from anywhere by logging on to the Internet rather than at Turkey's border ports. The e-entry visa will be granted by filling in the electronic application form on the following official website completely and without any decrease:  visa, and paying the specified fee electronically via the same website after approval of the application form.

The electronic entry visa will be granted only for tourism and business purposes.Those who wish to obtain a work visa, study visa or entry visa for other purposes should inquire with Turkish embassies and consulates in this regard.

Countries where an entry visa is required

The following is a list of countries whose citizens are allowed to apply for an electronic entry visa: United States of America, Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Bahrain, Barbados, Belarus, Belgium, United Arab Emirates, Dominican Republic, Dominican Republic, Indonesia, Armenia, Grenada, South Africa, Greek Administration of South Cyprus, Haiti, Croatia, Netherlands, Hong Kong, Great Britain, Ireland, Spain, Jamaica, Canada, Qatar, Kuwait, Hungary, Maldives, Malta, Mauritius, Norway, Sultanate of Oman, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Saudi Arabia.

Citizens of the countries listed below who hold an entry visa to one of the OECD member states or Schengen agreement member states or who hold a residence card in one of these countries can benefit from the electronic entry visa provided that their visit to Turkey is made by one of the approved airlines: Angola, Bangladesh, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Algeria, Djibouti, Chad, Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Ivory Coast, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, India, Iraq, Cameroon Kenya, Cape Verde (Cape Verde), Comoros, Republic of Congo, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mexico, Egypt, Moldova, Mauritania, Mozambique, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Central African Republic, Pakistan, Rwanda, Sao Thorne and Principe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Yemen, Zambia, Zimbabwe.

Egyptian citizens under twenty and over forty-five years of age can obtain an electronic visa via the Internet through the following website visa for a fee of 20 US dollars

Visa application dates at the consulate are daily, except for Fridays and Saturdays, and passports are returned to visa holders within seven days.

Documents required to apply for a visa:

1- A passport valid for at least 6 months from the expiration date of the required visa.

2- A recent personal photo (less than 6 months old), showing the face on a white background.

3- Airline ticket and hotel reservation - this service is provided

4- An invitation from the Turkish company with which the visa applicant deals regarding the visa for business purposes.

5- A letter from the employer and a bank statement.

6- Original trade register and tax card for business owners.

You must have insurance to enter Turkey.

According to the Law No. 6458 on Foreigners and International Protection, you must be covered by a valid medical insurance during your stay in Turkey.

If you cannot provide insurance covering the period of your stay in Turkey, you may be denied entry into the country by the border security.

Countries that enter Turkey without a visa: Turkey is considered one of the countries with a high demand for travel, especially citizens of Arab countries, as it is the closest to most of them.

Entry to Turkey:

  • Turkey has recently exempted citizens of certain countries from visas to enter Turkey.
  • This is part of the development of relations between them and the peoples of these countries and the promotion of tourism and trade and economic relations.
  • This exemption allows the citizens of these countries to spend 90 days in Turkey without the need for residence papers and to visit them once every 6 months.

Countries entering Turkey without a visa:

Austria, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, United Kingdom, Argentina, Germany, Andorra and Albania.

Latvia, Azerbaijan, Albania, Belarus, Wales, Bolivia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Brazil and Brunei.

Arab countries entering Turkey without a visa:

  • Qatar, Lebanon, Tunisia, Jordan, Morocco
  • Citizens of these countries can enter Turkey from airports and ports without a visa.
  • They are also allowed to stay in Turkey for 90 days, provided that the period of visit does not exceed 6 months.
