A group of Moroccan citizens is seeking to break the record for the largest flag displayed in the world. The area of the Moroccan flag displayed by the group is 60 thousand square meters. A representative of the Guinness Book of Records attended to ensure that the red flag with a five-pointed star in the center, which weighs twenty tons, is indeed the largest in the world, according to Agence France-Presse, according to Mehdi Bensaid, head of the Moroccan Democratic Youth League, which organized this demonstration. MAP said that the expert announced the adoption of the Moroccan flag, "the largest flag in the world", after exceeding the current record of 43,000 square meters. The Moroccan official agency added that the expert handed the head of the association a Guinness certificate for the registered number.
It took about one month and five days to complete this flag - according to the organizers - in order to spread it in the "El Menzah" square in the center of the city of Dakhla, the far southwest of the Western Desert.
